More People Trust Auto Insurance in Michigan as Insurers Start Stepping Up

|

If you care enough for your investment in your car, it’s not at all surprising that getting auto insurance in Michigan should be a top priority. However, as any claimant would tell you, one of the most grueling parts of having insurance is during the time when you actually have to file a claim. Thankfully, this isn’t the case anymore, as more and more motorists are becoming satisfied with their claims experience.

Satisfaction Ratings

As a matter of fact, the Insurance Journal reports that studies conducted on the satisfaction ratings of auto insurance customers have increased in the fourth quarter of 2012 compared to the previous year (a six-point increase in a 1,000-point scale). More recent research by J.D. Power has the trend continuing, with overall satisfaction increasing by three points in 2013 from the 2012 reading using the same scale.

Reason for the Rise

The same Insurance Journal report explains the reason for the said increase:

“The study finds that the average time to pay claimants has decreased to 13.9 days in the fourth quarter of 2012, down from 16.4 days in the same period of 2011. While the average time to pay claimants for a repairable claim (11.8 days) has decreased by 1.3 days from the fourth quarter of 2011, the largest decrease is in the time it takes to pay total-loss claims […].”

Direct Repair

Another factor that affects customer satisfaction in auto insurance is the speed of repair to the damaged vehicle. One way to speed up the claims process is to trust a direct repair shop that your insurance provider works with. Recent studies have revealed that on average, non-direct repair shops could make you wait at least 2.9 days longer to get your car back when compared to direct repair shops.

When it comes to filing a claim using your car insurance in Michigan, nothing is quite like efficiency and speed of service. Car insurance agents from established companies like Allied Insurance Managers, Inc. are able to help you get back on the road quickly and painlessly.
